The way we drink our spirits and hold our children
Like Denise on my knee-this daughter I call Tom Boy
As she giggles watching her father and periodically makes
Strange tangles of this red beard. Its like a jungle for a precocious
One And we’re staring at the screen, trying to avoid the glare hitting from the
Rockwell photo bought at a cheap garage sell for ninety nine cents
-boy in his pigskin nineteen Fifties football helmet.

This television shows steel soldiers, clad like titans. Giants that conquered
Rome, but modern and their only god is Nike on shoe
Small Logos for giant anthros. A cosmic representation of Americans doing what
seems Natural. Tom boy bounces time and time her head bobbing and brown hay
head, swirling up a smile for steel giants on screen.

When champions mean more for her and this game settles into her mind
She realized what a feat for equestrians over teddies-like Simon who I
Found for her at that same garage sell-fifty cents to keep tom boy happy
As she squeezes his brown fuzzy ears. When I sipped my brew at victory
She smiles and I promised her a trip to Michaels-For Simon and her a
Chocolate bear claw awaits. On Super Bowl Sunday, a sundae wont do.
